Job Title: Business Development Consultant

Location: Midlands based – Must be flexible with NATIONAL travel

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 + Bonus

Essential Experience required for this role:
This role requires a self-starter with proven experience of securing local and national employer accounts for the delivery of Apprenticeships to existing workforce (WFD).

Key Responsibilities:

- Employer engagement through telephone and field sales to identify and engage with employers to promote our clients wide range of Apprenticeships programmes for their existing workforce (WFD).
- Account manage existing businesses and engage with new businesses, gaining appointments with key decision makers to discuss their training needs, present our clients offering and close sales.
- Undertake Organisational Needs Analysis to match Apprenticeship Standards to employers needs.
- Keeping in touch with employers to secure repeat business and promote our clients as the provider of choice.
- Work towards monthly sales targets.
- Keep up to date with competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, evaluating the market and scoping out new opportunities.
- Promoting the benefits of undertaking training to employers and existing workforce – overcoming barriers and giving advice and guidance to the most suitable avenue.
- Cross sell other products, seizing all opportunities to offer clients a well-rounded service.
- Report sales data and forecasts on a regular basis.

Essential Criteria:

- Experience of working within a Business Development / Sales role within the training industry.
- Ideally hold proven experience of generating Apprenticeship opportunities for existing workforce.
- Experience of generating new business via warm and cold calling / telephone and field sales.
- Excellent knowledge of government funding streams / programmes / work based learning.
- Proven experience of negotiating / winning / closing new business within WBL sales.
- Proven experience of working towards and achieving sales targets.
- Excellent communication skills – presentation, written and verbal.
- Exceptional sales, marketing and networking skills.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Full, clean driving licence - you must be flexible with travel.
