A Financial Services Operations Assistant is sought to join the Middle Office function of a successful Financial Services organisation based in Birmingham City Centre. Graduates with industry experience or a relevant degree will be considered.

Valuations and Probates experience is highly advantageous but not essential however Financial Services experience is required. Previous experience within Tax would also be beneficial. The successfully appointed Valuations and Probates Assistant will be rewarded with a competitive salary and the opportunity to work for a large scale institution with a strong European footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operational and reporting aspects of the department are processed
    properly within agreed time frames for each transaction and reporting type and in accordance with regulatory requirement
  • Report all material facts, including exceptions to the line manager
  • Prepare, review and dispatch periodic reports sent to discretionary and non discretionary clients to ensure that all aspects of client reporting are correct
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies which includes analysis on unexpected performance variances
  • Communicate with other departments and CRO teams as appropriate to resolve issues
    arising
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable legislation, including relevant parts of the organisations compliance manual and FCA Handbook
  • Perform such other duties as the Firm may request from time to time in accordance with the Contract of Employment

Key Skills, Requirements and Experience

  • Previous experience gained within a Financial Services organisation is highly advantageous
  • Previous Tax experience is highly beneficial
  • Valuations and probates knowledge and experience is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and good academics
  • Experience of producing reports
  • Must be reliable, accurate and have the ability to prioritise work loads effectively
  • Strong systems experience, particularly with Excel
