This Chemistry Teaching Assistant position involves supporting GCSE students throughout the Science Department for the duration of the 2017/18 academic year. The role will ideally suit a graduate of Chemistry who wishes to gain classroom experience before training to be a teacher. Part of your role will include managing smaller intervention groups and individual 1:1 sessions whilst using the latest learning resources including interactive whiteboards.
The right candidate will be an enthusiastic Science graduate who has achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree and experience working with secondary aged children. You will possess a motivational approach to learning and an excellent knowledge of your subject. We want to recruit a graduate who has the skills to bring energy and enthusiasm to the role and rationally handle challenges. You should be able to clearly outline your reasons and interests in becoming a teacher and easily develop relationships with pupils and teachers.
