Home Visitor/Financial Assessor
Bursary Administration Ltd is a small company created in 2009 to provide support to schools within the Independent Sector. We have grown rapidly since then and now represent over 250 schools in all areas of England and Wales and we are the market leader in our field.
We are now looking for a Home Visitor/Financial Assessor to visit families in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
Our role, for the schools that we represent, is to gauge the integrity of the Bursary Application. To achieve this we visit the family home to discuss the reasons behind the application, the family situation and their current financial position. This is in part subjective and part objective:
- The subjective part of the work involves meeting parent or parents at their home (or place of work if absolutely necessary). We are trying to gather an understanding of the motivation behind placing their child at an independent school, the parents' respective roles within the family and at work, the home in general , and any other events, historic or current which may impact on their ability to pay school fees.
- The objective part of the work involves the collection of (mainly) evidenced data to produce an Income and Expenses, Assets and Liabilities model of the family budget. This allows the school to understand the size of bursary to be considered by their Governors.
- By gathering this data, the Home visitor can understand the family's financial priorities and where school fees sit within these priorities - this can also be subjective, but is a very important part of the assessment.
Work is provided to the company by the schools - this is logged in and monitored at Head Office, where appointments will be arranged. We are seeking visitors who will carry out no more than 20 appointments per week. It is our intention to provide visits within a reasonable geographic area.
Visits generally can be carried out within an hour and involve the completion of two data capture sheets which would then be used to complete the report, which comprises a typed document and spreadsheet, which are then emailed back to the office for onward transmission to the schools. If original documents have been supplied these are returned to the family during the visit.
This is an employed, PAYE role, initially on a seven-month contract with a fixed salary. We are hopeful that by 2018 we will be in a position to make this a permanent contract.
Salary is set at GBP24,000 per annum pro-rated, plus the use of a funded company car. A terminal bonus will be paid on successful completion of the contract.
