Internal Account Manager - Long Marston
12 Month Fixed Term Contract

A 12 month fixed term contract has arisen for an Internal Account Manager based at our Long Marston Head Office.

The purpose of the Internal Account Manager is to be responsible for the management and success of existing and new client accounts and the management of revenue for additional fridge charges.

Key accountabilities of the Internal Account Manager include:
• Management of fridge plant additional charges for non-conforming items. Revenue c. GBP20,000 per calendar month.
• Management of safe loading process for fridge plant. Recording of unsafe loads and liaising with customers and applying penalty charges if required.
• Management of existing supplier accounts.
- Management of appointed suppliers (excluding price agreements).
- Provide first point of contact for all non-standard requests and issue resolution by liaison with internal teams (Commercial Admin, Transport, Finance, Telesales, Marketing, Safety and Environment).
- Handle all account management issues forwarded by the National Commercial Manager, BDM, Yard and Business Managers and yard based staff.
- Supervision of account management inbox and provide time bound response targets.
- Maintain live log of all incoming issues and resolution status.
- Provide close-out to the customer on all issues raise.
• Manage set-up procedure for all new accounts / task sites.
• Maintain close contact with Business Development Managers on account management issues.
• Providing weekly and monthly customer reports
• Completion of due diligence/audit type documentation as and when required by suppliers.

Applicants must have exceptional organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable. The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills combined with integrity and confidentiality. This role requires a person who inspires and motivates suppliers to retain and grow business with Sims together with ownership and engagement with the business and suppliers. The applicant will have strong presence and demonstrate positive energy with the ability to convince others of an idea, plan or course of action and to effectively gain their support and commitment. They will need good analytical skills and strong computer literacy with database experience. The candidate will maintain professional ethics even in the face of opposition from internal or external parties. They should never accept excuses for breaches of ethics, values or regulations and address potentially unethical behaviour in others. The applicant would admit to mistakes and seek to address them honestly and truthfully with impacted parties.

Candidates for this role will have previous experience of Supplier Account Management including corporate accounts and Relationship Management at varying levels from Site Contacts to Senior Management. The role requires experience of Issue Resolution, Account Planning, Account Reviews and Account Strategy with knowledge of Bid and Tender support - team involvement. A full Driving Licence is needed as travelling to other sites may be required.
