My client is looking for an accomplished project manager who has managed automotive new product introduction projects.
We are looking for someone with experience in the full project management life cycle. Ideally with experience with JLR or Ford systems. You will need to be experienced in things like PPAP, APQP etc. We are looking at a strong leader for our cross functional team.
These are fast paced projects with demanding customers so this person would need to be a good negotiator who can get the best out of people in short timescales.

Qualifications and Experience:
A-level (High School Diploma) + 2 years higher education minimum in technical science, reinforced by 3 years research and process engineering experience or advanced technical training in industrial engineering.

Professional abilities:
*Organizational skills, leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, decision making power, synthetic thinking, rigor, interpersonal skills, strong sense of confidentiality,
*Command of office automation systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…),
*Command of a foreign language (depending on needs) is required.

Technical knowledge:
*Perfect command of project management systems and methods; good understanding of APQP procedures,
*Knowledge of business administration principles is an asset.

The project manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of one or several projects with low-to-medium complexity and economic impact, according to the product design and industrialization process and in compliance with QCD objectives. In this respect, she/he is responsible for leading a competent and multidisciplinary team (project platform) from the project proposal to the project evaluation, six months after the launch of finished product mass production.

*Determines the budget, the project development plan and pursues the quality plan, according to development standards and customer requirements,
*Elaborates and organizes technical meetings and project reviews, in conjunction with her/his team, external stakeholders, customers and suppliers' contacts,
*Is responsible for commissioning product and process FMECA,
*Draws on R&D units to define product and customer requirements, determines and performs the design validation plan and conducts the design selection and validation meeting,
*Draws on Benchmarking experts and Engineering managers that are operating in selected manufacturing sites to define production processes,
*Develops RFQs and purchasing requisitions and takes an active part in « sourcing committees »,
In the event of disagreement, she/he notifies and refers the matter to arbitration by the Division (or Subsidiary) director and the Functional department Director concerned; an appeal is conceivable
following the agreement of the Product Development Director,

*Is entrusted with the presentation of initial sample files and monitors their progress until their acceptance (mass production agreement) by the Customer, while relying on the support of Quality teams,
*Oversees the manufacturing process and implements, if need be, the necessary adjustments at concept design and process levels to achieve fixed objectives,
*Draws on the available IT systems and resources ( PDM, EDM project, SAP, …) and ensures the reliability of relevant data,
*Cooperates with the Product Line Manager, the Management Account Controller and the Quality Manager assigned to the relevant site, according to the Group procedures particularly during Project Steering Committees (PSC), Project progress report ( QCD objectives ),
*According to the organizational structure and in collaboration with product line and sales terms, she/he may have to develop quotes and put forward proposals on minor technical modifications for the project under her/his responsibility. In such case, those tasks must be performed in compliance with the Group' costing (pre-project) and sales guidelines,
*May have to supervise the activity of one or several Project Manager(s) depending on the organizational structure,
*Is responsible for implementing the overall procedures and operating instructions relevant to Quality, Safety and Environment, within the assigned area of responsibility and in compliance with the rules defined by the Group.
