Natalie Wood is recruiting for a Chemical Analyst to join a leading organisation specialising in rubber, plastic & composite testing & manufacture, on a full time, permanent basis based in Shropshire.

As a Chemical Analyst you will deliver timely, high quality data with minimum supervision, assist with project planning and implementation. You will also assist with efficient organisation of equipment resources, offer support with maintenance of specified equipment and provide technical expertise.

Further responsibilities of this Chemical Analyst will be to:
- Perform testing efficiently providing good quality data on time.
- Conduct a wide range of analyses using analytical techniques, including ICP-OES, FTIR, TGA and UV-VIS spectrometry.
- Comply with schedules and assignments.
- Assist in the development of new test methods.
- Promptly identify instrument problems and report immediately to Laboratory Manager
- Undertake equipment maintenance, and consumable stock control.
- Provide training and quality support where required.
- Provide technical expertise.
- Familiarity and compliance with all relevant standard operating procedures.
- Undertake appropriate training and development.
- Maintain appropriate and effective health and safety arrangements for the Laboratory in conjunction with the Health and Safety Officer.
- Maintain highest standards of housekeeping particularly with respect to storage of materials, chemicals, solvents and customer samples.

As a Chemical Analyst, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- A Level or equivalent or degree in a Science related subject
- Experience using ICP-OES, FTIR, TGA and UV-VIS spectrometry.
- Must be numerate, with excellent attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organise and manage own workload without supervision
- Aptitude to follow instruction accurately
