A baby goods retailer with an excellent reputation in their market. They are building on their success and are opening a brand new nursery and baby store in Stoke-On-Trent. This company does not target their store staff on sales, or target them to sell particular products. Your new role
You will be responsible and accountable for the launch and daily operations of the newest store in their expanding estate, driving store sales, profitability and customer service. Working 37.5hrs a week, with two weekends out of four on a rota basis, you will lead from the front and act as an ambassador of the company and ensure that all customers receive an exceptional shopping experience. You will run this new location as if it were your own business. You will have the freedom to make your own decisions with the support but not the restrictions of a corporate head office - if you want to do a promotion, run a customer event, or completely change the layout of the shop floor you can do this! In addition to your daily operations responsibilities you will also have the opportunity to take on some elements of HR. You will be responsible for recruitment, training, mentoring and coaching of your staff members and will give regular staff reviews and build development plans to help your team grow their skills.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you should have demonstrable experience as a Store Manager; but you don't need to have come from a nursery or baby product retailer. You should have an interest in nursery goods and a genuine pride to give the best customer service possible. You will be a confident and independent leader who has an entrepreneurial spirit. This company is looking for someone who is absolutely lovely, wonderful and ambitious that gets excited about their brand and what they do, cares for customers and strives to deliver exceptional customer service through their team. You should also have excellent commercial awareness, Microsoft Office skills, leadership and people management skills with the ability to train, mentor and coach.
