Job Purpose

• To provide efficient, effective and responsive housing management services within a designated work area, ensuring that services are provided in accordance with agreed policies and priorities of the council.
• To carry out all the duties set out below and be responsible for particular tasks and specialism's appropriate to the post objectives

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Strategic Management

• To provide management services with a designated work area including:

a) Tenancy management
b) Estate management
c) Tenant support, advice, action and monitoring
d) Tenant consultation and participation
e) Referral of specialist services
f) Recovery of rent arrears and maximisation of rental and other income for all council services

• To examine cases, maintain a direct involvement, identify the factors and develop appropriate actions in line with the priorities and practices of the council.
• To keep abreast of all relevant legislation.
• To contribute to the overall performance of the Directorate through personal performance, co-operation with other groups and in support of initiatives as approved by the Strategic Manager - Landlord Services.
• Establish and maintain good lines of communication within the housing team, the council and with outside agencies concerning matters relating to the area and services managed.
• Attend meetings and undertake relevant actions and visits out of office hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
• Be effective and efficient in the provision of comprehensive landlord functions giving general advice and assistance to council tenants and leaseholders.

• To receive and respond to tenancy and estate management issues for which the Department is responsible and develop appropriate solutions in line with the policies, priorities and practices of the council.
• To provide all appropriate tenancy support and advice to tenants of the area, including visits to ensure Tenancy Conditions are adhered to
