A specialist refurbishment and fit-out contractor who have been established for 30 years are recruiting for a dynamic and enthusiastic estimator.

Company: Interior fit out company who specialise in commercial projects

Project value range from 5k to GBP2m.

The company have an extremely low staff turnover rate and invest their time in their staff.

Role: Estimator : Interior Fit Out

Ideally you will have experience with fit-out/refurb contractor type projects.
The projects will be predominately in the Midlands but the company also operating in around London and other parts of the UK.

Experience of leading fit-out and refurbishment projects is advantageous but the company will look at estimators from other backgrounds.

Candidates will ideally have project experience with a fit-out contractor.

Most importantly the candidate for this role must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious and keen to progress their career further.

You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player.

A consistent employment record is essential with at least two years at each employer.

Job Description:
- Reporting to the MD, and working under the direction of the Sales and Marketing Manager, your duties will include:

- Initial appraisal of tender documents to identify risk/opportunity and convey findings to management in order to provide an informed decision on whether or not to tender

- Sending out tender enquiries - mainly by email or their Enquiries system, having an input into the selection of suitable subcontractors for invitation to tender
- Assistance with managing a supply chain database
- Pricing of various trade packages (brickwork, joinery, partitions, suspended ceilings)
- An understanding (from both a technical and cost perspective) of main subcontract elements - ground works, mechanical, electrical etc.
- Ability to measure trade packages from drawings and produce Bills of Quantities
- Chasing up subcontractor quote returns
- Analysing subcontract quote returns ensuring compliance with the brief, importing selected quotes into tender
- Pricing of preliminaries including temporary works, scaffolding, plant etc.
- Writing or having a significant input into compiling Contractor's Proposals on Design & Build tenders
- Preparing tender programmes or at least having an understanding and input into contract duration timescales
- Leading tender finalisation meetings with the ability to present the risk/opportunity/financial analysis of the tender to the Managing Director
- On successful tenders, present a hand-over file to the Contracts Department and lead a hand-over meeting at which the full project content (design, scope of works, financial analysis, programme etc.) can be clearly disseminated to the Construction team
