My Tunstall based client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to assist in the day to day maintenance of production machinery, attend breakdowns, log all work completed on the CMMS, carry out planned and preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with maintenance plans.

Requirements for the role

City and Guilds or equivalent mechanical qualification
Previous experience of factory maintenance work, including planned maintenance systems, installation work, fault finding and breakdowns.

Scissor lift trained, FLT trained, IT skills, Robotics, hydraulics, Pneumatic, Permit to work off procedure and PLC diagnostics.

The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Engineering and Site Services Manager and is part of the engineering and Site Services Team.

Accountabilities

Identification and rectification of mechanical faults on machinery within the slip house and press house departments of the factory.
Have a good understanding of mechanical systems, Hydraulics and pneumatic.
Undertake welding and fabrication of new and existing plant.
Make suitable recommendations to line management regarding machinery improvements and repairs.
Work on machine mechanical breakdowns and fault finding activities.
Work in accordance with all legislative and company health and safety rules.
Routinely carry out troubleshooting inspection of machinery to identify and rectify faults before they occur.
Log all breakdowns, repairs and planned work on the company maintenance management system.
Be able to work alongside the department manager as well as the maintenance shift manager.

Suitable Candidates should be able to explain things in a way that ensures everyone knows what is expected of them.
Have the ability to change style to suit the circumstances of people.
Must be proficient in the use of MS Office
