Graduate Production Engineer
Are you a graduate with a Mechanical or Production Engineering degree? West Midlands based (or looking to relocate there)? Enjoy identifying opportunities for improvement, and looking for a hands-on role? Then read on…
This business is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and installers of a specific range of equipment; the equipment makes many disabled and elderly people’s lives easier.
Located to the west of Dudley, in the west Midlands (not too far from Birmingham and Wolverhampton) they have a a proud record of developing students and graduates, and providing full training and support. They are a rapidly growing organisation with growing market share and major ambitions for the future, and are now looking to add a new graduate to their team.
They have a production facility that includes manufacture of the bespoke equipment. You will be involved with all the aspects of the manufacturing operations, with processes from assembly to supplier development to welding to robots to electrical assemblies to design for manufacture and a large contribution to the ongoing lean manufacturing development.
Typically, you will identify opportunities for improvement and carry them out. You should be able to understand the wider benefits that changes may have on the business. As the role develops you will be given ever broadening responsibilities.
You will gain a very broad base of experience as the business is small enough that you will be involved in many areas but large enough that there is significant depth and resources to make a real difference.
An awareness of LEAN manufacturing, and understanding of modern production processes would be an advantage.
During the initial two years it is expected that you will seek to achieve an associate status of membership of either Mechanical or Manufacturing institutions, before moving on to achieve chartered status for the second couple of years.
