Our client seeks two experienced; PROJECT/MANUFACTURING ENGINEER



§New project introduction including liaison with the customer, manufacturing, quality, logistics and purchasing from specification to production handover.
§Be available to provide engineering and technical support to the manufacturing units on a day to day basis.


§Equipment specification, installation and commissioning
§Tooling design and development (Assy)
§Control of cost within an agreed budget and time frame
§Co-ordination of all activities for new/existing equipment embracing the following elements
§Training of technical support personnel cascading down to operators
§Liaising with engineers on planned preventative maintenance
§Sign off by manufacturing
§Safety at Work Act
§Formulate/advise on manufacturing methods and plant/equipment requirements for new/existing projects
§Evaluate current Assy methods and make recommendations to higher management for any considered changes required
§Implement improvements
§Ensure the productionising of new projects against agreed time/quality/cost and output standards to achieve the following:
§Sampling and PPAP for approval by customer
§Capability studies
§Establishing process and setting criteria
§Generating setting sheets and operator work instructions
§Ensuring that FMEAs are generated
§Liaise with customers on product development projects concerning cost savings, engineering changes and product quality related matters
§Plan scheduled tasks in line with manufacturing requirements
§Assist in achieving maximum uptime of machines
§Assist in 5C attainment of the manufacturing and engineering areas
§Ensure suppliers receive all necessary information and advise to assist them with giving good service
§Ensure that all services provided to both internal and external customers satisfy their requirements in terms of responsiveness and quality
§Be a supporting and effective member of the Engineering team

§Experienced process/production engineer or technician
§Planning and organisational skills
§PC literate
§Undertake overtime and call outs as required
§Good machine supplier base knowledge
§Experience of resistance welding machines and processes

§HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, although other qualifications or proven track record in similar role will be considered
§Minimum of 5 years' experience working with assembly/resistance welding processes. Preferably within an automotive environment.
§Familiarisation of latest best working practices associated with assembly/resistance welding processes
