A globally recognised Automotive OEM are looking for an IMDS System Engineer to manage the international material data system activities within the business.

Commutable from: Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Redditch

Salary: £ 30,000 - £ 35,000 p.a. dependent on experience

Suitable for: Engineering Change Coordinator, IMDS Coordinator, BOM Coordinator

The Role

You will manage the International Material Data System activities within the business, interfacing with suppliers to gather part/material data sheets and discuss any issues with the data sheets and materials. Reviewing supplier data submitted for all components upon initial release and advise purchasing/supplier of missing or incorrect data. Approval of all assembly level material data sheets, IMDS from all suppliers as necessary. Examining restricted substances contained within the report on a regular basis to ensure compliance with REACH, GADSL and OEM requirements. Review of Bill of Materials for part structure to ensure aligned with the data submitted on IMDS. Work with the SQA team to ensure suppliers meet material compliance as part of PPAP. Facilitate data exporting to ENOVIA and manage RRR calculations for new models and phase lifts programs.

Understand legislation changes and guide the business on mandatory changes required. Be accountable for Material database management along with REACH and RRR.

The Person

Minimum of 3 years' experience in an IMDS Management position within an OEM or Tier 1 Automotive environment. Ideally you will have fair experience in a PLM deployment or application position and ideally will have knowledge of ENOVIA. You will have worked with hazardous substances, materials, concentrations and chemical naming conventions. And will have a good understanding of engineering databases to get and use information as BOM's, drawings and material specifications. A good knowledge of engineering Bills of Materials and associated processes and technologies.

You will be an excellent communicator, able to build and maintain both internal, external and supplier relationships.
