They are seeking a high calibre, talented Operations Manager to emulate their success across the UK. Accountability is measured by your results which will be recognised across the company.

How will you be successful?

You will effectively manage the offsite and onsite delivery of utility construction projects within the region. The primary focus is to ensure that programmed works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with their customer expectations. Their number one priority is safety and you will ensure that your team work safely at all times with zero harm. Working closely with a centralised team you will ensure your site managers and contractors are using best practice processes at all times whilst driving continuous improvement across the team.

By building, managing and motivating your team (approximately 8 direct reports with responsibility of a team of 10) you will support them to achieve and surpass regional goals. A major objective for this role it so consistently deliver on developer sites including the provision of material and plant.

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will support strategically assisting with the preparation of company budgets, strategic plans and contribute to the development, communication and ultimately the delivery of these plans within their area of responsibility. Whilst you will be operationally hands on you will also have the ability to work strategically with the Regional Director.

As well as building successful teams, you’ll have used your superb negotiation, presentation and persuasive skills to maximise opportunities.

You will be HNC - Electrical Engineering or similar equivalent qualification, NEBOSH, IOSH or SMSTS and NRSWA Supervisor Qualified. Proven experience of managing a team and operating in the multi utility industry, you will have excellent organisational and planning skills. With a good understanding of business you will have experience of budget control and technical project management skills.

Electrical Experience operating as an ICP or for an IDNO or Gas Experience operating as an ICP or for an IGT. An understanding of water Self Lay Process and relationships with incumbent networks is beneficial. Knowledge of multi utility networks, test equipment and testing methods, industrial hazards and Health & Safety Precautions essential.

You will have strong Microsoft Office skills, primarily in Word and Excel as well and an ability to learn in-house IT systems. Strong excel skills are critical to ensure that your projects are delivered to budget.
