Senior Financial Accountant

Location: Warwick

Salary: £33,000 - £37,000

greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant on permanent basis for a business based in Warwick.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day to day activities of the Assistant Financial Accountants, Purchase Ledger & Sales Ledger teams and lead, develop and coach individuals to build a high performing team and create a pipeline of talent

  • Co-ordinate all finance activities and procedures and identify any opportunities to promote common policies and practices

  • Accountable for ensuring the timely presentation & consolidation of financial results into Group reporting systems and for ensuring appropriate documentation supporting balances is maintained

  • Responsible for preparation of monthly , quarterly and annual statutory accounts, tax computations , sales and cash management information to the Groups reporting timetable

  • Responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of Inter company accounts

  • Responsible for the submission of statutory returns

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the Company Auditors and Taxation Service Providers, supporting the compilation of audit & company tax information in a timely and effective manner

  • Responsible for the provision of contract and corporate cash management and forecasting systems , including liaison with banks and assistance with sourcing of Company Finance

  • Responsible for the maintenance if Capital Expenditure and fixed asset systems and records

  • Responsible for the integrity and security of data and information held on the company's finance management systems, its related files and the coordination of upgrades to the system

  • Coordinate and build relationships with internal and external suppliers of IT and bespoke applications to the Finance department

  • Improve systems and controls within the finance function in line with legislative requirements and best practice

  • Lead any ad-hoc finance and business projects

  • Willingness to attend International Group conferences and training as well as delivering training locally

Personal Profile:

  • The successful candidate will hold a full professional Accountancy qualification, either ACCA or ACMA

  • Have a thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.

  • Proven experience of the management of financial accounting processes, knowledge of Navision ERP system and relevant experience in the development and maintenance of accounting processes, applying IT to accountancy and financial management tasks is essential for this role.

  • You will need to be at an Advanced level in Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to understand, formulate ideas and solutions to support the rest of the team.
