Position Title: Software Engineer (Day shift)
Electrical Engineering - Gaydon
This role will be within the VDS Driveline, User Modes and HIL team, forming part of the Chassis Electronics (CE) section of Electrical Engineering (EESE). The team provides control system and software design and development expertise for existing and future CE related features such as Driveline Controls, Terrain Response, All Terrain Progress Control and Hardware in the Loop testing. This role is within the team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, upgrades of the hardware and software to support the Hardware in the Loop, (HIL), Test rigs, and other support software and hardware to enable the validation and testing of ECU modules supported by the Chassis Electronics section of Electrical Engineering. Key Performance Indicators R/1000 customer software defects. On time software delivery
3 KEY SKILLS
- Detailed knowledge of Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow toolchain 2.
- Detailed knowledge of dSpace tools, including target link, Control Desk, AutomationDesk, HiL architecture Plant modelling.
- Development experience of hardware in the loop systems
Personal Profile Essential: Strong organisational, project management and communication skills essential. Highly motivated to lead the development of the HIL rigs and continually contributing to developing the processes and capabilities within the team.
Detailed knowledge of Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow toolchain. Detailed knowledge of dSpace tools, including target link, Control Desk, Automation Desk, HIL architecture. Experience using Software configuration tools, Automated test tools script writing. Diagnostic Part 2 testing, IPG car maker, CAN, FlexRay networks. Plant modelling and Development experience of real time control systems. Experience using Software configuration tools. Good knowledge of mathematical control techniques. Educated to degree level in relevant subject, with good communication skills
Vehicle dynamics knowledge including active and passive chassis systems. Postgraduate Qualification (MSC/PhD) in Control Systems/Electronics
Key Interactions -Links to offshore software team. Delivery of software test results to Chassis Engineering. Support development of test requirements with system engineers. Working together with the other engineers to align processes and develop efficiencies
