Job Title - Field Service Engineer

Our client is a large and successful producer of inspection, transport and sorting machines within the food industry. With serviced customers based around the world they are a truly well-established business. This is a full time and permanent role for a Field Service Engineer based in the Midlands. You will receive a basic salary of up to £36,000 with an excellent benefits package and unrivalled career prospects.

The Person

The Successful Field Service Engineer - (Electrical Engineering bias) must have experience in a Field Service role, preferably within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Automotive, Pharmaceutical etc. To compliment your industry experience as a Field Service Engineer (Electrical bias) you will ideally be a time served Engineer / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, educated to one of the following ONC, HNC, HND or Degree in a relevant subject.

You should be confident in your ability with a flexible and adaptable attitude to work and have a genuine interest in Engineering/ Mechanics, you will strive with your colleagues in the Engineering team to provide the maximum availability and efficiency of our clients equipment in a fast paced manufacturing environment. All Field Service Engineers in the team have a flexible approach to working patterns in this 24/7 operation.

The Role

Problem solving is of course at the heart of the role as a Field Service Engineer and you will be required to repair and maintain a wide variety of Sorting, Processing and Filling equipment. It would be helpful if you had some experience of the food industry but our client is willing to consider other industry experience. You will need to be comfortable with the principles of continuous improvement as our client strives towards being a LEAN enterprise. The highest standards of workmanship and attitude are expected at all times combined with a true commitment to safety and zero accidents.

The Package

The successful Field Service Engineer will be joining a fantastic engineering team. You will receive on-going training to ensure your abilities are kept as up to date as possible with the ever involving equipment which is present in the industry. You will also be educated on manufacturing principles and through your structured Personal Development Plan, you will be given the opportunity to drive your career forward and achieve your full potential. All field service engineers are required to have a flexible attitude to travelling considerable distances, both inside the UK and internationally.

  • A basic salary of up to £36,500
