Where you’ll work
A new opportunity has become available in our Credit Control Department for a knowledgeable and driven individual to join us as a Team Leader in Cannock.
What you’ll do
This is a key role within a large function and combines technical knowledge with people management skills to deliver an empowered and high performing team. You’ll oversee the collection of overdue payments in line with company KPI’s from customers via telephone and post.
The role will require you to manage the team of credit controllers ensuring they are developed continuously and that performance is in line with requirements, reporting this performance is also an important aspect of the role.
You’ll monitor customer accounts to ensure they trade within agreed credit limits and liaise with depots to inform them of account changes and manage communications around account stoppages to limit business disruption.
It will be important for you to stay aware of risk situations on credit accounts and general risk management, highlighting concerns where necessary. The role will extend to initiation and management of litigation processes when necessary
What you’ll need to know
Applicants will need well developed knowledge of Credit Control and exposure to mentoring or managing people. It’s essential that you have relevant and adequate experience within Credit Control. You should ideally have previous experience of supervising or mentoring staff and possess a polite, professional and assertive communication style.
You’ll also be able to prioritise workloads in a high volume environment and be computer literate with exposure to Microsoft Office/G Suite. Excel skills are particularly important and you must be able to interact with internal stakeholders at all levels. There will also be regular meetings with clients for whom we conduct collections.
