Are you a graduate in one of the three main branches of science looking for a Teaching Assistant role in a secondary school?

Have your experiences of working with young people fuelled your desire to become a future teacher of science?

Are you able to put your specialist knowledge of science to good effect by increasing attainment in secondary school pupils?

Can you work on a full time, term time basis throughout the academic year supporting pupils in science as a Teaching Assistant?

***Science Graduate Teaching Assistant
***1st or 2:1 Degree in Physics, Chemistry or Biology
***Solihull Secondary School
***Starts September
***£55-60 per day

My client school, located close to Solihull, has approached Edustaff for the recruitment of a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants for their core subjects. Included in this is the need for two high calibre science graduates, ideally with excellent degrees, from leading universities, in physics, chemistry or biology.

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the lead teacher in supporting pupils in physics, biology and chemistry. Where you work and spend your time in school will be largely dictated by your past experiences and degree subject. This is a varied role but on a daily basis you could find yourself working with splinter groups from the main class, supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis as well as supporting the class teacher with experiments. Each teacher utilises their Graduate Subject Mentors in different ways so candidates must be flexible, adaptable and hard working in order to get the most out of this experience.

This is an ideal opportunity for science graduates that are looking to go on to train as teachers. This classroom based experience is the perfect platform in providing candidates with many of the necessary skills that are needed for a career in teaching.

If you’re a top class science graduate and would relish the opportunity to spend a year in a school’s science department as a Teaching Assistant then please email a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff today.
