Roles Responsibilities

Key Objectives:
* To be responsible for the overall technical solution, incorporating the integration of different "sub-systems" such as CCTV, IP/MPLS network, optical network, access network and associated OSS/BSS systems;
* To set strategy for common objectives across various sub-systems and ensure individual teams meet the strategic requirements;
* The management of customer requirements and how satisfied in the solution(s)
* To be responsible for design assurance (incl Safety, RAM, EMC);
* To liaise with the customer and project team to ensure that the solutions satisfy the contractual requirements
* To develop a strong understanding of the business and its operational requirements to advise the customer and project team on best practices
* Keeping up to date with the Customer's strategy and translating to the Service Provider's organisation

Deliverables include:
* Management of system team to ensure common strategic intent and requirements met
* Engineering Process & Management plans
* Setting common strategy across sub-system solutions
o Migration
o Terminology
o Element management
o Reports
o System diagrams
o Testing
o Requirement Tracking
* Technical Interface Control (between the various internal / external components)
o Interface Control documents
o Interface Register
* Design Sign-off
* Requirements verification

Experience:
* Significant experience in System Design, Project Engineering Management and design authority roles of large integration projects within a regulated customer facing environment
* Requirement and Design assurance management
* Broad technical knowledge in telecommunications products/solutions covering:
o Optical Networking
o IP Networking
o CCTV
o Network Management
o Wireless
* Management of 3rd party providers for the delivery of professional services engagements
* Understanding of in-life 'service operations'
* Deployment of application integration products
* Creation of clear and concise documentation

Skills/Qualifications:

Essential:
* Chartered Engineer
* MIET (or similar)
* Degree in Engineering related subject
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to describe complex solution simply in a non technical manner

* Ability to lead and provide direction to a technical team of Business Analysts and Application Specialists
* Team working to consolidate knowledge, requirements and solutions to deliver the best team result.
