A fantastic independent school in Napton are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work with them on a permanent basis from September. The school is located in a quiet area with a supportive team of staff in very beautiful rural setting.
Your new role
In this challenging, but extremely rewarding role, you will work alongside pupils working in KS2 in very small, intimate class sizes being part of a support team at the school to build positive, meaningful relationships with the students.
The Teaching Assistant role is primarily to support children with Special Educational Needs in small groups for intervention programmes and within classes to develop social integration. You must be able to offer support on a 1:1 basis and have excellent behaviour management skills.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this teaching assistant job opportunity, you must have experience with working with children with challenging behaviour and ideally trained in Team Teach, as well as experience supporting pupils with SEN on a one-to-one basis. You must also be aware of the key competencies that are expected to go along with working with children with SEN, as well as good knowledge of the national primary curriculum.
