For the role of Senior Planning Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that you achieve and sustain "best in class" planning performance and outcomes within budget whilst delivering continuous improvement initiatives within agreed objectives.
Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Ensure daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished (i.e. staffing, equipment, space), using and challenging customer provided PFEP data.
Support parts and materials delivery on time according to sequence/cycle requirements, by supporting First Line Managers/Shift Managers and team members.
Demonstrate support for tracking and managing of inventory integrity; supporting the aim for avoiding parts loss, over stocking at PoF and parts damage is essential.
Lead effective recruitment, selection and staff on boarding activity.
Lead team training initiatives by maintaining skills matrices and develop/support team members to promote succession planning.
Develop and manage launch budgets for operational pre-build activities.
Build the team and encourage excellent morale through ensuring interdependencies are strong, relevant and vital.
Manage and build-in demand variances being the planning subject matter expert for DHL and in the eyes of customer. Planning excellence supports operational performance against customer/DHL agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Parts loss, miss handling and damage are all KPI criteria.
Manage absence from both a duty of care and a customer service and cost impact.
Identify and drive operational and functional process improvements
Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Ensure compliance with safety policies and employee representation on committees.
Operate within the customers quality system/targets (Policy Deployment)
Manage and maintain relationships with trade union (if applicable) and support the GM in introducing employee forums within the spirit of EOS.
Ensure effective working relationship/collaboration with the customer and respond to customer cost/supply chain challenges.
Ensure compliance to customer audit standards for notice boards, safety and 5S disciplines.
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Supply chain operations, warehouse PFEP analysis and planning experience essential.
Divisional automotive experience desirable (associated with in-plant logistics on customer premises and/or remote sequencing/kitting supply warehousing).
Inbound to manufacturing business unit experience desirable but not essential.
Experience of inventory planning with the tools, processes and levers to produce strategic plans essential.
Competence of working with cost and price driving models is essential.
Effective team leadership and culture enhancement skills essential.
Some solution design experience ensuring that all functions are considered and presented in the plans is essential
Educated to graduate level desirable but not essential.
Minimum of A' level standard of education, specifically in English and Maths essential.
Project management skills/qualifications highly desirable.
Advanced levels of MS Office competence are essential.
CIPS qualifications desirable but not essential
