My client is a fast growing and dynamic company engaged in the design, manufacture of high technology material characterisation instrumentation used in a variety of industry sectors, including Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Polymers.

Their instrumentation is used from research through to the production arena and assists customers in deriving competitive advantage through improved product performance and faster time to market.

Due to their continued growth, we have the requirement for an Electronics Engineer to join the Sustaining and Improvements team who will act as the interface between New Product Development and Manufacturing teams during the release of new products and support of current products.

Your role will be split across providing electronic engineering effort to the sustaining team; Solve problems as they relate to electronic engineering issues, working closely with other technical specialists as necessary; Improve electronic and cable designs to aid manufacturability and serviceability; Identify and implement cost reductions; Provide electronic support to the procurement team to allow manufacture in low cost economies; From time to time to take on the role of Project Leader of a team as directed by the Engineering Manager providing team leadership and design direction as appropriate to the size of project; Ensure that designs meet the Company standards; Maintain and generate drawings to international standards (such as IPC); Redesign due to discontinued components, or identified design improvements; Maintenance of drawings (Schematic, wiring, PCB, assembly); Maintenance of the BOMs ;Liaise with suppliers to determine the choice of components and test methodologies; Contribute to electronic development standards and policies; Provide technical support to the manufacturing facilities overseas; Carry out experiments and/or perform design calculations to predict, measure and validate instrument performance with respect to mechanical, particulate and other parameters; Support suppliers relating to electronic parts and assemblies, both on and off shore and perform activities such as brain storming, concept selection, DFMA and FMEA.

This role would really suit an up and coming electronics engineering enthusiast with a keen eye for problem-solving solutions. An engineering brain with no fear of bringing new ideas to the table and displaying excellent communication skills.

In order to carry out this role the ideal candidates will be skilled in:
-Strong Electronic Engineering knowledge
-Good Digital and Analogue circuit design knowledge
-Schematic Capture using Altium
-Strong Documentation skills
-Soldering skills (IPC standards)
-Knowledge of standards: RoHS, LVD, EMC and IPC
