Omega Resource Group are currently representing a leading UK based wiring systems specialist that supplies some of the world's largest companies. Our client is currently looking for a buyer to work underneath their Supply Chain Manager dealing with the expedition and de expedition of materials in line with production requirements.
This role is an 18 months maternity cover with plenty of opportunities to showcase your current skills and abilities

Main Duties

*Placing purchasing orders and maintaining all aspects of the material aspects of Lines of Balance and other project plans
*Expedite or de-expedite materials from suppliers to meet changing production requirements.
* To identify any supplier issues, delivery timescales, price increases, obsolescence, MOQ requirements, etc., to the Supply Chain Manager in a timely manner
*Negotiation of best pricing and improved delivery times for new quotes and source alternatives for obsolete components by working alongside engineering and sales departments.
*Providing the correct manufacturing documentation, to ensure that suppliers are meeting the required standards of quality and delivery
*Creation of supplier masters, supplier cross-references and maintain prime supplier and lead time parameters to ensure internal system requirements.
*Control of non MS consumables with a view to developing a robust purchasing and control system for same
*Working with the Supply Chain Manager to create and control a Preferred Supplier List, whilst assisting the Supply Chain Manager in the establishment of a Supplier Development Program, additional duties and responsibilities

Qualifications/education required
Educated to higher level - NVQ 3 or above/similar
Engineering qualification desirable, but not essential
Computer literate in Microsoft Office inc. Excel and Word.
Proven track record demonstrating a record of experience and achievement within a customer liaison role
Proven people skills and achievements experience within a electronics/manufacturing advantageous
Planning & forecasting software experience ( MRP) would be advantageous
