Graduate Analyst - ICP - Chemistry - Materials - Analytical - Shropshire - GBP.Comp + Benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate within a chemistry discipline to join an organisation that is at the forefront of materials testing. As a Graduate Analyst you will be required to carry out testing on medical device packaging materials to provide high quality data reports. To be successful you must possess recent, relevant experience using Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) instrumentation and hold a degree within a chemistry discipline.

Graduate Analyst Responsibilities:

*Perform testing efficiently providing good quality data on time.
*Comply with schedules and assignments.
*Deliver timely, high quality data with the minimum of supervision.
*Assist with project planning and implementation.
*Assist with maintenance of specified equipment.
*Provide training and quality support where required.
*Assist in the development of new test methods.
*Promptly identify instrument problems and report immediately to Laboratory Manager.
*Undertake equipment maintenance, and consumable stock control.
*Familiarity and compliance with all relevant standard operating procedures.
*Maintain appropriate and effective health and safety & Quality accreditation for the Laboratory in conjunction with the procedural compliance.
*Maintain highest standards of housekeeping particularly with respect to storage of materials, chemicals, solvents and customer samples.
*Be aware of the requirements of the UK Good Laboratory Practice Regulations 1999 and work to these principles where required.

Graduate Analyst Skills & Requirements:

*Educated to a degree level in a chemistry or closely related discipline.

*Experience with Analytical Techniques: ICP, GPC, LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP & IR
*Possess an understanding of the application of quality systems to analytical chemistry.
*Excellent problem solving skills.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Must be self-motivated, with a desire to assist other members of staff and customers.
*Familiar with MS Word and Excel.
