Senior Quality Assurance Manager

Overall purpose of role
Head the Distribution Quality Assurance function, leading a team that undertakes a schedule of risk based quality assurance assessments using the defined Risk Methodology across Business Solutions and providing support to the business area in respect of the delivery of key internal/external governance commitments e.g. Conduct Risk assessments, Audit and Compliance reviews.
Responsible for ensuring that effective oversight of business and customer risk is maintained across Business Solutions.

Key Accountabilities
* Undertake targeted control interventions & assurance and where required manage the resolution and remediation of conduct risk issues to maintain a green control environment e.g. in response to thematic issues or risk events.
* Provide robust, effective and insightful reporting, analysis and communication to provide assurance to senior management that the business is compliant with the defined governance framework, with effective escalation of issues as appropriate.
* Implement and maintain systems to ensure the most efficient management and monitoring of the allocation and use of the Quality Assurance team resources.
* Manage the delivery strategies to simplify and enhance the controls and quality assurance environment.
* Support the delivery of exceptional business and operational performance across Distribution channels within Mortgages.
* Ensure a robust working rhythm is established and maintained within the Mortgage Family to ensure conduct risk issues are aligned and solutions are worked upon on behalf of, and through the lens of the customer in a collaborative manner

Person Specification
Detailed knowledge of Group regulated products and sales processes as well as a good understanding of the mortgage industry and the relative positioning of the business' products to the competition.
* Detailed knowledge of Mortgage, General Insurance and Banking Codes.
* Graduate calibre with proven experience working in a regulated and control environment.
* CeMAP or CIMA qualification, or working towards it.
* Proven experience of influencing senior stakeholders including briefing and presentations
* Experienced people leader
* Experienced in dealing with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objectives e.g. internal audit, risk, compliance, fraud, legal
* Experience of project or change management and assessment of the impacts this has upon the internal control environment
* Ability to provide leadership through bringing together insight from analyses and external knowledge
