Interim Senior Procurement Manager (Supplier Development)


GBP500 - GBP700 per day

4 - 6 Month Contract

Are you a Senior Interim Procurement Professional with experience managing large scale international sourcing projects? Do you have experience managing GBP100mil+ This is a brand new role, that will be responsible for looking at non-traditional sourcing opportunities for large bespoke assets in the Utilities market.

Reporting to the Head of Global Procurement, the Market and Supplier Development Manager will set and implement a strategy to identify and qualify new, best-value suppliers through non-traditional markets, ensuring maximum value from the supply chain without compromising quality.

The Role

• Lead the strategy development and implementation plan for market and supplier development, ensuring:

o Non-traditional sourcing options are identified and appraised to deliver value-adding options.

o The business builds and maintains a diverse, globally oriented supply base through focused resources that proactively scout and develop suppliers in non-traditional markets.

o Reputation risk is managed throughout the pursuit of non-traditional markets.

• Deliver and maintain an effective market and supplier development governance plan, ensuring that the appropriate and ethical sourcing methods are applied to the identification, appraisal and management of non-traditional markets.

Undertake research and analysis of potential markets, supplies, and global cost of materials trends, ensuring that information (i.e., security of supply) is shared across the Procurement function to drive decision making and inform strategy.

Lead a highly motivated, innovative and value-focused team, developing talent and a performance management culture that drives value through employee engagement.

Provide support to business wide change activity, role modelling new ways of working.

Experience Required

Ability to communicate dynamically at all levels internally and externally to senior leaders within supplier organizations (including C level executives)

• Experience of managing procurement activities and delivering procurement value.

• Experience of using business intelligence to leverage opportunities and deliver targets

• Good understanding of broader business objectives and the implications of strategic planning and actions within the category on the regional/global businesses.

• Expert influencing & negotiation.

• Relationship management experience, driving commercial value and performance.

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding ability to make decisions or recommendations on incomplete information

• Experience of successfully identifying and engaging non-traditional supply chains
