In a nutshell

An exciting opportunity to join our growing Experience Design Team and create new digital products which will change the way people shop and work at Sainsbury's.

You will develop original design concepts to deliver a distinctive, consistent look and feel, and work on new features and improvements to enhance customer and colleague experiences across mobile, tablet, desktop and in store screens. Our designers work on all areas of our business from food to fashion, finance to general merchandise - and we create experiences to make it easier for our 200,000 colleagues to better serve our customers.

Our designers play a key role in developing our online and digital identity, so we're looking for someone with big brand experience. In return we will ensure you have the freedom to express your creativity in front of millions of customers.
What I need to do
  • Develop imaginative and creative concepts for JS online and digital projects
  • Working as part of a multi-discipline team of designers, developers and product owners, create experience-oriented designs for digital products for customers and colleagues, such as new websites and mobile apps
  • Deliver exceptional, pixel-perfect polished designs across our varied digital estate
How I will succeed
  • Customer satisfaction with our digital experience
  • Soft measures such as the consistency of user experience between properties, and how strong our customer digital experience is more generally. There are many industry surveys that attempt to capture these kinds of measures.

What I need to know

  • Proven experience as a creative visual designer working on digital products and services
  • A conceptual approach and an eye for detail
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing your talent on web and mobile on large brands
  • Experience working in collaboration with UX designers and developers. Agile scrum experience is desirable.
  • Adobe Creative product suite, Sketch
