Role profile
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Head of Project Delivery with telecoms. This role is a senior leadership role and requires a strong individual that operates at director level to lead the delivery of projects circa GBP20m per annum based across England.

Responsibilities include:

* Leading all project delivery functions including project management, technical design, programme planning, pre-build and testing, installation, commissioning, and site handover;
* the delivery of the capital works projects, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and has achieves the agreed client acceptance criteria;
* liaising with the client and key stakeholders to develop and maintain a forward looking programme for accurate demand and capacity planning
* acting as the primary interface to the client
* managing internal processes in line with Principal Contractors requirements;
* Ensure there is early engagement with the telecom designers and other stakeholders;
* ensure information regarding the programme forecast is communicated within different business functions to enable appropriate resource to meet requirements;
* monitor, control and review performance through regular meetings with all stakeholders and client;
* Responsible for the management P&L and financial reporting both internally, through contract review and externally, as required by the contract;
* ensuring strict financial controls processes are followed;
* ensures compliance of contracts, Quality, H&S and the Customer's environmental standards and
* seeks continuous improvement of the network through the introduction of new and innovative solutions;
* implementing and maintaining the programme structure, including the allocation of resources, capabilities and appropriate governance mechanisms to meet the programme objectives;
* Management information reporting and governance for all projects;
* Managing risk throughout the programme;
* Establishing and developing the project management team, setting standards, identifying the required levels of training and defining specific project roles for all projects. Including production of project specific roles and responsibilities for the project team;
* Ensuring that all project materials and documentation are produced to a high standard, are agreed and approved by the Client and managed throughout the project lifecycle
* Ensures accuracy and integrity of network related configuration data to support seamless handover to maintenance based on ITIL principles

Deliverables include:
* To develop and maintain the programme strategy
* The implementation of programme organisation and reporting structure
* The resource planning and smoothing of the overall plan, taking into account the different milestone requirements and competing project demands
* Implementing regular reviews with the Client and their stakeholders at a senior level to maintain alignment of programme objectives and Client expectations
* Manage each project P&L against budget and provide a monthly report
* Establish and maintain a Client stakeholder management plan to support different levels of engagement, escalation processes, and approval for change, in support of the programme requirements
* To provide overall leadership for the Programme for telent and functional day to day management of the project team
* Ensuring the project delivery organisation manage their budgets, productivity, costs, project risks, issues, project scope and project change control in line with organisation objectives and targets
* To implement initiatives within the organisation to continually improve the operations performance, the quality of delivery, and our focus on the health and safety practices in the environment we work in

* demonstrable success leading telecommunications and/or capital works projects with high technology content in a safety or mission critical environment, and utilising frameworks such as MSP or Prince2.
* People management skills working in a cross functional / matrix environment
* Proven ability in establishing successful programme organisation structures and driving collaborative behaviours with Clients, Suppliers, and internal delivery teams
* Excellent Client facing skills, comfortable engaging at senior levels within their organisation
* Experience of managing multiple stakeholders and building strong relationships with the Client and Suppliers to meet the programme objectives will be essential for this role.

* Management of Supply Chain quality to meet project objectives
* Working Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation and how this is applied, monitored and improved within a safety critical or mission critical environment
* Exposure to LEAN principles and Business Improvement
* Experience of delivery in the Transport sector would be an advantage

* Prince 2 qualified to Practitioner level or similar industry recognised discipline
* Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
