We work closely with a Residential Care Home making positive strides in caring for individuals with Dementia. We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant on their behalf. As a residential healthcare assistant your typical clients a will be adults with physical or mental disabilities or other emotional or social needs. As a healthcare assistant you will provide support, information and guidance to service users and their carers helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. You'll carry out tasks which a caring relative might normally carry out. To respond to the physical, personal, emotional, religious, cultural and spiritual needs of the person.
Your day-to-day tasks would vary according to the client group you work with, but might include: * checking each resident's needs and progress * creating a safe and positive living environment * setting rules for service user's behaviour* providing one-to-one counselling or group therapy sessions * providing leisure and creative activities in a safe and supportive setting * helping residents to deal with problems and become independent * liaising with residents' families and arranging family and home visits * working with other health and care professionals * acting as a learning support assistant Successful Applicant will have:
* Experience in the healthcare sector * Mandatory Training's (In-house training centre that potential candidates can take a 1 day course in) *Enhanced DBS check The following is desirable, but not essential: NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care
