We are looking for a graduate in computing or similar to join the IT team to work across the two sites in Manchester and Stoke on Trent. We want someone who is a quick learner who can join our Technical Services team and pick up support and developments on our applications and databases. We mainly use Microsoft SQL server and our applications are C# .Net, but there will be other technologies to pick up and we are always looking for ways to improve what we have.

We want someone who has a real passion to use technology to make a difference. As long as you've got the technical aptitude we can teach you what you need to know, so a good Degree in a technical discipline and a desire to learn quickly is the most important thing. In return there's lots of opportunity to get involved in our Digital transformation, alongside providing support to a wide range of business critical applications. You will learn about the retail, supply chain and pharmacy business and we will actively work on your development into more senior roles in IT or the business. We are particularly interested if you want to be a DBA and have a talent for databases.

What you'll do:

  • You'll provide technical support for all products and services across the entire business landscape

  • Support activities and tasks throughout the product deployment cycle (i.e. analysis, configuration, installation, testing and maintenance) ensuring they are delivered to IT standards

  • You'll liaise and take direction from the Product Support team members and wider technical teams as required to ensure delivery to SLAs

  • Action, support and service requests provided by the produce support team members to agreed service levels

  • Use appropriate software tools to support the resolution of technical issues and problems

  • Utilize service tool to accept, update and close service incidents, ensuring this is kept up to date

  • Maintain service catalogues and support documentation so that they are reflective of current processes and services
