Data Solution Architect (Architect, Support, Testing, ITIL, Data Scientist) Salary: GBP64,528 - GBP71,500 Location: Newcastle Regular travel to Telford will be required as part of this role. We are expanding our Case Management Delivery Group and are recruiting into a number of posts within the Revenue & Customs Digital Technology Service in Newcastle. The role will be responsible for the overall design of the data architecture across multiple divisions and data types (big data, data science, structured, semi-structured and unstructured), balancing the need for access against security and performance requirements. This role will have key input into the enterprise information architecture including data roadmap design, access, usage and stewardship. The position also requires an understanding of emerging regulatory issues surrounding information assets (such as consumer privacy laws, data retention, outsourced data and specific industry guidelines). The role will also consider the development or use of process models, creation or use of information or target data models, interface designs, and technical alignment of solutions, security and quality of information assets. Essential Knowledge, Criteria and Skills ? Expert level data modelling, conceptual through to physical, relational, object, analytical and NoSQL. ? At least 10 years data modelling experience in a software engineering environment. ? Expert level in the creation and maintenance of enterprise data artefacts. ? Highly motivated with experience of selecting and working with data and data tools. ? Experience of canonical modelling. ? Capable of engaging senior stakeholders. ? Capable of developing and maintaining strong working relationships within the organisation and third party suppliers. ? Able to manage their time effectively and work proactively across projects as well as BAU tasks. ? Written and verbal skills to enable them to communicate complex data and information problems and solutions. ? Experience of developing data strategies, policies and standards. ? TOGAF Practitioner. ? Highly proficient in at least one query language for each of the following: relational; analytical; NoSQL. ? Proven innovator with proficient software engineering skills to prototype relational; analytical; NoSQL solutions. ? Practical experience in geospatial data design. Desirable ? Understanding of project management and business analysis activities. ? Practical Line Management and/or Resource Management experience. ? Data mining experience.
