Our client has been established for more than a century and are renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field. As a result of continued success they are urgently seeking to recruit a highly self-motivated, proactive and dynamic Quality Manager to oversee all aspects of quality and continuous improvement within a dedicated fast paced niche sector production facility.
This is an all-encompassing Quality Manager and continuous improvement role in which you will need to develop and implement an integrated business QMS, create key Quality KPIs, provide leadership and guidance for all process owners and ensure adherence to relevant Quality accreditations, and as the lead operational excellence champion for the site, you will plan and facilitate activities to embed a continuous improvement culture and customer focus across the entire business.
To succeed in this role you will demonstrate a proven track record of success in creating and implementing a quality management system that drives quality improvements and increases customer satisfaction, and you will possess a 'toolkit' of leading edge Quality and continuous improvement techniques along with the ability to educate and influence technology manufacturing at all business levels.
It is envisaged that the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in a Quality lead role within a manufacturing business, and have demonstrable experience of implementing/managing an ISO QMS, whilst being familiar with HSE and lean principles, and able to work well both autonomously and as part of a team.
Core responsibilities for the Quality Manager position will include devising, establishing and maintaining company quality procedures, standards, and specifications, to ensure QMS achievement of, and compliance with, necessary national and international external and third party registrations and accreditations, and both directing and coordinating quality assurance programs and formulating quality control policies and procedures that drive work teams towards achievement of company efficiency and profitability targets, by process improvement and elimination of waste. You will investigate, measure and report customer satisfaction levels against their internal goals and company targets, and be responsible for the development and training of the Quality team to a level of cross functional self-sustenance, whilst engaging with the local management team to ensure Quality receives appropriate levels of support and focus, and provide education and training as required.
To be considered for this varied and challenging Quality Manager opportunity you will possess relevant engineering qualifications (HND or above in a technical discipline) and a minimum of 5 years' managerial experience gained within an automotive manufacturing environment ideally (ISO9001:2015; IATF16949; SPC; APQP; PPAP; MSA). You will additionally demonstrate significant previous exposure to the Lean 6 Sigma philosophy and knowledge of supply chain management and 3rd party problem investigation and report writing, with knowledge of materials manufacturing processes (Casting, Forging and Sheet steel etc) proving distinctly advantageous.
