LEVC is the manufacturer of the iconic London Black Cab which is utilised in over 40 major cities worldwide. We have an exciting future ahead our parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group are investing GBP325m to manufacture a brand new all electric zero emissions capable taxi with a range extender which will be built in the brand new facility at Ansty Business Park, Coventry. The facility is the size of 13 football pitches and incorporates the latest construction and environmental technologies!

IMDS System Engineer

Given our ambitious and exciting growth plans for the future, we are looking for dynamic and self-motivated IMDS Systems Engineer to join our Change Control team

Department - Change Control

Reporting to - Engineering Change Control Manager

Location - The Ansty Business Park, Coventry

Main Responsibilities:

- Manage International Material Data System activities within the LEVC
- Interface with suppliers to gather part/material data sheets and discuss the issues with the data sheets and materials.
- Review supplier data submitted for all components upon initial release and advise Purchasing/Supplier of missing or incorrect data
- Approve all assembly level Material Data Sheets, IMDS from all suppliers as necessary
- Examine restricted substances contained within the report on regular basis to ensure compliance with REACH, GADSL and OEM Specific Requirements
- Review Bills of material for part structure to ensure align with the data submitted on IMDS.
- Work with SQA team to ensure suppliers meet material compliance as part of PPAP
- Work with Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, PLM team etc. to gather information in terms legal, statutory and business requirements and Manage OEM specific information on IMDS.
- Collaborate with BMS team on best practices, processes and procedures, reporting tools.
- Facilitate data exporting to ENOVIA and manage RRR Calculations for new models and phase lifts programs.
- Provide training to the other departmental staff as required.
- Manage REACH compliance and report management about any legislative changes and actions required.
- Understand the legislation changes and guide business on mandatory changes required.
- Accountable for Material database management along with REACH and RRR
- The position will require frequent contact with, Purchasing, PLM team, Engineering, Quality, SQA, Suppliers and HSE


- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in IMDS Management position within OEM or Tier 1 Automotive Environment.
- Fair experience in a PLM deployment or application position desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge about ENOVIA is desirable.
- Experience with hazardous substances, materials, concentrations and chemical naming conventions
- Good understanding and handling of Engineering data bases to get and use information as BOM's, drawings and material specifications
- Able to establish cross functional and cross regional network to efficiently communicate and exchange information
- Experience supporting and/or training IMDS users
- Good knowledge of engineering Bills of Materials
- Basic knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes & technologies


- Degree level - Material Science or Chemistry
- Familiarity with PC Office applications
- Advance level certification in IMDS System
