Employer Description

My client specialise in designing and manufacturing professional lighting equipment. They currently employ over 600 people and their products are sold throughout the world. The Group Management team are passionate about developing the business for the benefit of the shareholders, employees and customers.

They have an existing Apprenticeship program in place with the capability to develop their staff to a high level.

Job description

They are currently looking for an IT Support Apprentice to provide help-desk support as well as supporting with infrastructure projects.

Provide 1st line support to computer users within the firm, log / update helpdesk tickets & work closely with the IT team on infrastructure project work.


- Provide first line support for all users
- Maintain a hardware inventory
- Maintain a professional presence to enhance the quality and reputation of both the department and the company
- Assist users in resolving any IT issues through guidance (telephone, email or in person)
- Monitor any harmful attacks such as viruses & Spyware and take preventative steps where possible to minimise disruption
- Maintain adequate stock for printer consumables
- Generally undertake such duties deemed necessary by the IT Manager as and when appropriate

Desired Qualification

- Ideally 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English

Working days/hours

Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm


Potential for a full time role at the end of the Level 3 Apprenticeship, with a full salary review, as well as further accredited training from QA Apprenticeships.
