Job Title: Electrical Service Engineer

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the maintenance, service and repair of utility equipment throughout the assigned region.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the installation, service and refurbishment of utility equipment and all associated components, including control systems, valves and pipework.
• Analytical survey of control equipment, both electrical and physical.
• Isolate, dismantle and inspect utility equipment, including moving parts and lubricants.
• Examine and report any defects with regards to the valves and pipework.
• Report any abnormalities.
• Supply details, measurements, and full descriptions of any components that require replacement.
• Install and commission supplied equipment and all associated apparatus.
• Work as part of a team where health and safety demands.
• Carry out both planned and reactive service visits as scheduled in a timely manner.
• Lifting of access covers and all associated components from ground level to an approximate depth of 10m using the appropriate tools supplied by the company.
• Working in an outdoor environment in different weather conditions on a daily basis.
• Driving a company vehicle to the standard required by the company, as detailed in the Company policy to and from scheduled and reactive calls.
• Create, compile, analyse and maintain commercial and operational information for strategic and operational requirements in a dashboard/database format.
• Develop reports for management on the overall performance of business segments and develop metrics and KPIs to measure various characteristics of the business and the operating departments
• The role will be required to work closely with the Operations Manager and Area Managers to ensure that functions are aligned and performance KPIs/SLAs are engrained within the operating and commercial culture of the various departments.
• Assist the company in meeting its operational, commercial and contractual obligations for reporting
• Work closely with management team across the Service business to understand business requirements industry standards
• Analyse business processes and customer needs in order to produce process documentation
• Support the business and management team to implement change within the workflow and reporting processes
• Normal hours of work are 39 per week however a totally flexible working attitude is necessary to meet the client and business needs. In addition on-call duties will be necessary on a rota basis.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Electrically qualified to City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 or industry equivalent, (including 17th Edition)
• Good knowledge of utility equipment, phase industrial electrics, fault finding and testing of electrical components / panels to 17th Edition.
• Full driving licence
• Able to use a PDA system and various customer management logging-in systems.
