Role description

Our client is a small, privately owned business which develops Insurance Broker Management software.

In this role, you will work closely with our client's product manager to support, monitor and develop their web based Broker Management Software. This is an exciting role with a real opportunity, for the right candidate, to influence the future architecture of the software. There is scope to grow the role, and potentially review responsibilities and terms, as the needs of the business develop.

Specific responsibilities and tasks will include:

* Supporting the analysis and functional design process by providing technical programming advice.
* Developing new features using functional specifications.


Title: PHP Developer/Software Developer

Day Rate: GBP230pd-GBP280pd

Location: Warwickshire or remote/home working

Term: Contract 3 days a week for 4 weeks potential for extension

Skills and experience

Essential skills and experience required for this role:

* Evidence of competence in PHP, MySQL, HTML. Evidence might include certificates of competence and/or course work completed during school/college or for an employer.
* Proven experience, or willingness to learn Amazon Web Services, web APIs and data processing tools and techniques.
* Organisational and administrative skills. Must be comfortable working to deadlines and communicating weekly progress via our ticketing system.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable skills and experience required for this role:

* Knowledge and use of the Symfony, High Performance PHP Framework is most desirable. Our software is built within this framework.
* Competency with using CSS and JavaScript is advantageous but a basic understanding of both languages is expected.
* Competency with Angular would be nice to have.
* Knowledge, creation and use of web APIs would significantly help.
