An award winning, Warwickshire-based organisation who are specialist in cyber security, are now looking for a number of talented, Apprentice Cyber Security Analysts to join their rapidly expanding organisation. From their EMEA headquarters located in Warwickshire, they provide true global coverage, allowing it to respond to the intricate regulatory nuances required in todays interconnected environment.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking enthusiastic and inquisitive Apprentice Cyber Security Analysts to join a fast paced and innovative team. You will join their Managed Security Service SOC based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. You will primarily handle Security Events of Interest and will use the tools and resources provided to correlate suspicious events, providing context around the event and provide an assessment of risk/threat. You will work with custom threat intelligence tools and various products developed internally to aid the functions of the SOC. Contributions to threat led research and investigations will be encouraged.

As part of the SOC Team, you role will also be responsible for the continuous monitoring of customer environments via both SIEM and IDS/IPS solutions. You will be required to interpret events from enterprise systems such as AV, IDS/IPS, FIM, Event Logs, Web and Mail Gateways as well as Firewalls and other Network Infrastructure.

-Daily ownership and management of SOC customers; including log management, log analysis, event management and alarms.
-Review and respond to all alarms within agreed SLA's.
-Investigate escalated events from 1st Line Analysts.
-Manage rules set across both SIEM and IDS/IPS solutions.
-Maintain regular verbal and written communication with customers, suppliers and internally as required
-Maintain accurate investigation and case management records
-Research and maintain an up to date global Security awareness
-Provide recommendations on SIEM and IDS/IPS tunings to Senior Analysts
-Help produce a range of reports to deliver up to date and reliable analytical data to our customers
-Liaise with Account Managers and assist in both pre-sales support and existing customer interactions

We are ideally looking for candidates with months industry IT experience for the 1st Line role but if youre capable and can demonstrate the ability to learn fast this wont preclude you.

What experience and skills do I need?

Youll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) of grades A*-C (or new grading of 4-9) including Maths, English and IT / Science. Additionally, you will ICT A-levels or equivalent (BTEC, Level 3 Apprenticeship, etc.)

Were looking for an IT-enthusiast with:

-Demonstrably strong communication skills with spoken and written English.
-Good basic understanding in IT areas such as Operating Systems (Windows, Unix, IOS), Networks (Firewalls, Routers/Switches, IPS/IDS), internet use (Domains, SSL)
-Be a self-starter, able to initiate and develop concepts and ideas into solutions.
-Commitment, dedication and attention to detail.
-Demonstrably strong written and speaking English skills.
-Demonstrable ability to work on own projects and within a team.
-Please note that due to the nature of work, we require candidates to be holding SC clearance or, be eligible to gain SC clearance.

Ideally, you will also have:

-12 months of relevant security related experience or alternatively, 12 months or more of technical experience paired with a passion for cyber security
