Position Description:
Senior Catia V5 CAD Engineer (BIW) for Body Structures. Creation of Concept CAD geometry from initial sections and surface data. Integration of CAD concepts into JLR standard AVA(parametric) model templates. Provide CAD support, leading and progressing the design in line with the programme timescales and deliverable cadence. Ensure data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time, ensuring efficient delivery and update of all AIMS issues assigned to them. Liaise with other areas within Body Engineering, other affected functional areas, suppliers and programme teams, to ensure system compatibility issues are resolved in a timely manner. Catia V5 Minimum 8 years BIW Engineering knowledge of Body Structures/BiW design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.

Experience in collaborating with design, engineering, production & manufacturing.
Proven Project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
Excellent communications skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
Proven project time line management.
Able to lead a small team of CAD engineers if required.
Successful history as a BIW CAD Designer/Engineer in the automotive sector (minimum 8+ years BIW experience).
Degree or suitable HNC/D with experience.
AVA knowledge or potential for AVA (parametric modelling).
Working knowledge of project delivery processes - PCDS / PPAP.
Working knowledge of change management processes - AIMS, WERS, PACN

Experience Required:
A strong capability to interrogate & manage data and a methodical, constructive approach to problem solving is essential.
Strong presentation skills, ability to lead team will be necessary including the ability to communicate with conviction at a senior level.

Experience Preferred:
Awareness of Automotive compliance requirements and a working understanding of vehicle build coding process is very desirable.
Previous experience in Body Engineering / Exterior System environment would be beneficial but not essential.
Candidate must have experience of project management, ideally encompassing work with suppliers or other external organisations.
A good understanding of the Foundation and Design FMEA process, Design Verification, WERS & Alerts, plus AIMS processes are required in conjunction with experience of Forward Model Quality strategies.
Understanding of Market derivatives & macro business desirable.
Knowledge of CATIA, TCe and Digibuck, to be able to view and interrogate geometry will be a considered an advantage.
