A World Leading Manufacturing company are recruiting NOW for an NPI Production Engineer from a raw materials in, to finished goods out manufacturing environment. Offering a salary of GBP35-40K to be based on site in Lichfield. As a NPI Production Engineer you will have extensive experience of different NPI processes and tools to ensure NPI projects are installed on time and to budget.

Summary:

The role of NPI Production Engineer requires an individual who is results driven, able to deliver and install robust processes with associated documentation and metrics for New Product introduction.

The role requires someone who is able to embrace NPI processes and tools, ensuring that NPI projects are installed on time and to budget, whilst achieving the requirements defined in the supporting business case.

The Role:

Delivering robust processes for selected NPI projects into the production facility against set timelines and budgets issued from the Technical team.
Attendance at associated project meetings and presenting/reporting on progress against the timeline, whilst raising issues or roadblocks with the Program managers.
Striving to achieve Engineering Advantage through innovative, efficient and effective product & process design encompassing Design for manufacture, Poke Yoke error proofing.
Generate ideas and proposals to develop the NPI & APQP processes on a continual basis.
With all processes delivered you will follow and apply all applicable company policies, procedures, quality, and Health, Safety & Environmental standards.
Select, specify and detail new equipment and processes accurately within the economic scope of the selected business opportunities, followed by detailed cost analysis and capital proposals which are supported by the relevant business case.
Actively utilise the tools and techniques associated with Lean Manufacture and robust quality control and is able to install these into the defined new processes.
Manage the manufacture and delivery of all required production equipment in line with the project expectations
Create and submit all setup data for new products to the data control administrator
Maintain the production engineering documentation registers & project files up to date following the quality business system.
Produce 3D & 2D CAD drawings for associated tasks within the NPI projects.
Generate all required supporting process related documentation
Oversee the installation, commissioning, proving out, training and pass-off of all new equipment for the designated projects.

Suitable Candidate:

Experienced NPI Production or Manufacturing Engineer from an engineering manufacturing background
Several years experience in an all encompassing NPI production engineering role.
Experienced and responsible for all Production Engineering aspect of NPI implementation from raw material specification through to finished goods packaging and all processes in between
Working knowledge of world class quality systems, process control methods and lean production systems
Experience of 'Design for manufacture' and able to guide the product design team to formulate optimised component and assembly designs
Detailed process design, specification and development, management of manufacture, installation, commissioning, prove-out, training and hand-over etc
A broad range of manufacturing process experience, specifically assembly and test process cell design and development
Good understanding of APQP, related tools and techniques including FMEA
Conversant with BS308, 2D & 3D Autocad
Highly self motivated - able to work as part of a team and have self initiative to work without supervision
Innovative, with a drive for continuous improvement and able to use structured problem solving techniques
Understands the financial and commercial aspects of NPI
Able to create detailed cost, resource and capacity analysis calculations
Accurate verbal and written communications at all levels
Professionalism, honesty and integrity
Excellent presentation and analytical skills
