33955 Systems Engineer - restraints electronics
The candidate will act as the Systems Engineer for Restraints Electronics, with specific responsibility for Occupant Sensors. The candidate would be expected to maintain a Systems Engineering approach, ensuring that all stakeholders are involved and working to the same goal. Provide technical assistance to the feature and component owners and to monitor the vehicle requirements and timing and ensure there is a robust delivery plan meeting all required deliverables. Technical Lead for all Network Communication requirements as well and Circuit diagrams and component electrical interfaces. Monitoring deliverables via JLR's RMDV deliverables monitoring tool, releasing SW to the various vehicle lines and plants using JLR's WERS system, and managing all electrical issues whether this be SW, HW or Network Communication via the use of JLR's AIMS system. The candidate would also be required to visit JLR's manufacturing sites to review emerging issues in order to identify root cause and plan resolutions. The candidate would also be required to visit crash test sites and crash test preparation areas, being responsible for signing off the vehicles fitness for test from a Restraints Electronics perspective. Take ownership of vehicle line quality metrics, identify and lead projects to resolution. Analysis of warranty data to identify and prioritise top issues and resolve customer concerns Identifying and implementing robust containment, root cause and permanent corrective action. Quality data analysis using AWS, PAWS, CQI, JD Powers, DTC Database etc, Project resolution through use of 8D, 6 Sigma tool set. Work with supplier base and JLR engineers to find resolutions and preventative measure. Reporting out to management at weekly meetings.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Technically competent in Electronics - including vehicle networks , systems engineering and control interfaces.
Planning and task management - including prioritisation, maintaining control and working as part of a team and drive issues forward to conclusion.
A robust understanding of Electronics and electrical systems.
Experience in Electrical system testing.
Experience with vehicle networks such as CAN/LIN.
Quality and warranty analysis and metrics.
Degree qualified in Electronics / Software or automotive subject.
Any project management qualifications advantageous.
Experience of specifying / verifying automotive electrical commodities.
Knowledge of JLR toolsets and processes.
Knowledge of Vehicle Multiplex systems - CAN, LIN and associated analysis tools.
Knowledge of ECU Diagnostics - Diagnostic protocols and DTCs.
