Position: Resident Engineer - Jaguar Land Rover

Location: Warwickshire / Hertfordshire

Our Client, a global major Tier 1 Automotive company specialising in the supply of high technology Electronic components seek an experienced Electronics Engineer who will act as a moving "OEM Resident" essentially supporting Jaguar Land Rover, mainly in and around Gaydon. Reporting to the Product Engineering & Validation Manager, the main purpose of this position is to support Instrument Cluster projects for JLR at the customer sites. This will allow for quick feedback on issues and concerns enabling my Client to have access to all relevant information.

In detail, your role and responsibilities will include:

-Customer Interface: acting as the "right hand" to the Engineering Project Manager at the customer. You will be the direct interface between JLR and my Client which includes, but is not limited to assisting the design team to get access to all relevant information required to develop the products as well as participating in meetings and reviews as required, assuring that minutes are taken and distributed to relevant staff in a timely manner.

-Local Co-ordination: co-ordinating meetings, reviews and other activities at JLR. Assuring all relevant specifications and requirements are known and distributed as required.

-Business Development: to keep an open mind and proactively assist my Client in developing further business opportunities with JLR.

-Testing and Evaluation: assist and participate in key activities at JLR such as vehilce tests, labcar tests and other such activities, helping to improve the design convergence. You will assist in carrying out tests and measurements on vehicle and labcars as requested by the Design Engineers.

Qualifications and Experience ideally required:

-Should ideally be educated to Degree level in an Engineering discipline; preferably Electronics. However, equivalent experience will certainly be considered.

-Should ideally have worked in a similar position i.e. Systems Engineer / Electronic Engineer, general Resident Engineer.

-You will have knowledge of the specific requirements for Automotive Electronics; knowledge of Instrument Clusters ideal.

-You will have knowledge of Automotive Systems and Software.

-You will have knowledge of Test Equipment and methods - to be able to measure the correct data in vehicles and labcars.

-You will need knowledge of CAN and LIN technologies and test tools.

-Flexible to travel and to stay away from home.
