An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Male Support Worker in the Wolverhampton area. In return, we offer competitive pay rates, full induction and ongoing training.

We require an enthusiastic, organised and experienced male support worker to support our client who is 11 years old and is wheelchair dependent. He is a bright, intelligent and happy young man. He uses eye gaze communication but he can communicate his needs by signs and non verbal communication.

Our client attends a school for children with special needs. He has additional one to one support at school due to the complexity of his care needs. Our client requires assistance with personal care. He has an extensive therapeutic program to help maximize his physical and emotional well-being.

He has support at home, both from parents/family members. He loves football, watching sport and computer games.

The successful Male Support Worker will:

· Demonstrate a high quality of verbal and written communication skills ·

· Have previous experience of working with children

· Demonstrate awareness of risk

· Have evidence of enabling skills and ability to encourage independence

· Have a positive attitude

· Have a good sense of humour

· Demonstrate ability to work confidently alone and as part of a team

· Have a high level of mental and physical stamina

· Demonstrate a high level of organisational and administrative skills

The pay rates are:

Weekday - £10.00 per hour / Weekend - £12.00 per hour

The hours of work are:

14-16 hours per week

Term time - 7-8.30am, 4-9 Saturdays 8-2, Sundays 8-8 or 8-5

School Holidays - 8 - 1,5-9 Saturdays 8-2, Sundays 8-8 or 8-5

The successful candidate must have full UK driving licence and be willing to undergo a DBS check.
