QA Manager: Birmingham City Centre: Competitive Salary & Package

Broster Buchanan are delighted to be working on a retained search for a global business that are developing a centre of excellence for Quality Assurance and DevOps for a number of their flagship products to be based in Birmingham City Centre. As part of this my client are looking for an experienced QA Manager to form QA centre of excellence reporting to the Chief Technology Officer who will take ownership of the leadership, definition and execution of our QA practices globally providing services within our cross functional product teams. You will also play a key role in leading the journey towards an automated testing model.

As QA Manager you will:

- Execute the digital strategy by owning and coordinating the Quality Assurance of our business-to-technology relationships, and creating innovative digital solutions to deliver high business value.
- This role is hands on with day-to-day project operations in a scrum environment and on-going monitoring of status.
- Our client are strong believers that innovation comes from within and encourage exploration of new tools and techniques. They currently use open-source technologies wherever possible and give back to the community by open sourcing code when appropriate.

Many members of our team contribute to open source projects individually.

They are actively changing our landscape, embracing microservices, engaging front end experiences with Isomorphic JS frameworks, continuous integration and tightening the feedback loop through continuous delivery.

To succeed in this role you must have:

- Technical background and extensive exposure to Agile development methodologies required
- Extensive experience writing automated acceptance tests, and creating automation test frameworks
- The ability to define and iterate a test approach
- The ability to identify issues and communicate effectively to the delivery team and the business stakeholders
- Experience of solving complex problems/issues
- Proven experience in challenging technical approaches and adding business value
- Experience using technologies such as Selenium, Robotium, Appium, XRay or equivalent
- A broad understanding of architecture principles and modern development techniques helpful
- Demonstrable understanding of test processes, SDLC workflows, and industry standards/practices, including BDD/ATDD, test automation strategies and risk assessment practices
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written documentation
- Proactive individual who will take responsibility to act and think laterally to rapidly solve problems and/or identify opportunities as they arise

Location: Birmingham City Centre with Travel to both the London and New Offices as required
