Position Description:

The Opportunity The newly created Complexity Management (CM) team sits within Product and Architecture Strategy and has the responsibility to develop and set the variant and commonality agenda going forward. This new team have the opportunity to have a significant impact on the overall business performance of our client in the future by simplifying engineering and reducing complexity. This is to ensure that the client can improve quality, reduced investment, resource and variable costs. We also have to be able to develop the customer offer strategy for the customer to maximise the profit from utilising complexity management toolsets. The role will deliver processes that ensure that the CM strategy can be deployed into the business and vehicle programmes. You'll also be tasked with supporting the delivery of `Minimum Viable Product' working tools and metrics to enable monitoring and governance of product commonality, complexity and variety, and you'll support the upgrade of working tools into Enterprise systems as well as developing an appetite for change in the business by demonstrating benefits of the CM process to stakeholder groups. You'll support the development of lean CM process at the business, programme, and commodity or system level in addition to guiding the development of targets and deliverables for CM. You'll collaborate with IT, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), etc. to develop corporate tools based on the working versions, and you'll engage with Data Supply and customer groups to ensure input data is trustworthy and consistent.

Skills Preferred:

Key Performance Indicators

Establishing a process landscape for Complexity Management within the business.

Development and testing of strategic metrics, process and toolsets both for the CM team and ready for wide-scale deployment across the business and programmes

Establishing and implementing lean agile working practices within the CM team

Creating and maintaining positive stakeholder network to support the CM agenda

Ensuring departmental alignment with corporate standards of excellence (TBEM, Way, KWS)"

Experience Required:

Essential:Working knowledge of engineering, business processes and methods, with successful translation of these into strategic change needs, practical tools and processes.

Experience in the development and application of concurrent engineering approaches.

strong process development and deployment capability, as well as theoretical understanding of CM.

Understanding of the hierarchy of Architectures, Systems, Sub systems and Components

Possess experience of enterprise toolset design and delivery, including data management and reporting.

PCDS Strategy phase development or delivery experience

Strong track record of delivery and being results orientated

A relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience"
