My client, a tier 1 investment bank is recruiting an exceptional self-starter with a proven record of initiating and executing strategic change, and an understanding of financial, regulatory and reputational risks, to join their Corporate Operations team as Head of UK Corporate Lending Operations and Asset Finance.

About Wholesale Lending
The Wholesale Lending Transaction Cycle supports Corporate clients across the lending business and through the end to end process from Credit Analysis/underwriting through post sanction fulfilment, drawdown, collateral perfection, maintenance and release, financial monitoring and control, and general servicing throughout the life of the loan. The team has core UK and India site presence.

Overall purpose of role:
As Head UK Corporate Lending Operations and Asset Finance, the role holder will define and implement the Target Operating Model for two distinct areas of the Wholesale Lending Operations business; Debt Service and Asset Finance Fulfilment. The role holder will be accountable for the e2e Fulfilment organisation supporting over 17 business verticals that generate cGBP4bn worth of revenue per annum and a headcount of circa 200 FTE.

The team will span across multiple geographic locations, time zones and cultures. Accountability will include; delivering a range of products to Complex / Larger Corporate & Institutional clients, identifying & building out the synergies and integration across common Wholesale lending journeys and working with multiple stakeholders to ensure a successful & efficient target operating model.

In addition to this, the role holder will be the Senior Site lead for Corporate Operations in Birmingham. Although their immediate remit will be to directly lead their Fulfilment teams, they will also be responsible for having a holistic view of all Corporate Operations Functions in Snowhill, Birmingham. They will represent the organisation for the wider teams through their leadership presence whilst acting as a point of escalation. This will encompass role modelling colleague engagement and talent management and creating a diverse and inclusive environment that attracts, retains and develops talent with tailored career opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:
The role holder will have accountability for a team of 200+ FTE across multiple geographic sites in the UK and India, with direct responsibility for operational execution to process transactions within defined SLAs and headcount allocations, in compliance with appropriate policies and applicable laws and regulations. The role holder will be responsible for setting and implementing the strategy for the function. The role holder will create, embed and lead a service capability for Debt Service and Asset Finance Fulfilment and also be accountable for delivery and execution of all agreed priorities.

Functional Leadership - providing scale leadership, management, SLA adherence, control environment and colleague engagement of circa 200 FTE

Change Management and Execution - the role holder will take primary responsibility for leading the Transformational change agenda, in line with the strategy agreed with the business. They will own, initiate and execute change and be accountable for benefits realisation.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
The role holder will engage with MD level stakeholders to establish and maintain meaningful collaborative relationships to allow the optimisation of the business and position the Operations function as an integral part of it. The role holder will be a quorum member of relevant Investment Boards, Risk, Control and Risk Management Boards. The role holder will be the senior approver for all Operations impacted change and the senior recommender for New Product Approvals impacting the function.

Person Specification:
* Experience in managing operations at a regional/global level and working in a large Corporate Banking environment, including managing virtual teams in offshore locations.
* Proven record of initiating and executing strategic change.
* Exceptional understanding of the financial, regulatory and reputational risks as they pertain to Debt Service and Asset Finance lending, including compliance to OFAC, OCC, BOE and other global regulatory requirements, compliance to Anti Money Laundering regulations and fraud risk.
