As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that you maximise the financial & commercial performance of the Sainsbury's open book contract & closed book contracts, support new business proposals & project development, ensuring all DHL contract processes are delivered & provide support to the Commercial Controller. To act as Sainsbury's open & closed book Finance lead, providing robust internal & customer reporting and analysis, owning the monthly customer finance review pack and agenda, responsibility for internal and customer budget and forecasting process and providing adhoc customer financial support. To establish on-going effective relationships with all customer finance teams, Internal DHL operational teams, and business partners to deliver best in class financial support & exceed customer expectations. To be responsible for all DHL financial management under area of responsibility & ensure that effective financial controls and processes are adopted across UK Finance & risks to financial performance are minimised.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;

Provide commercial support to maximise the revenue and EBIT from DHL closed book operations & Sainsbury's open book contract, developing financial plans & deliver business cases to support new business and renewals.
Support the Commercial Manager and site operational team in the achievement of all financial targets, through detailed reporting, supporting internal & customer period reviews.
Effective management of relationships with all external customer departments and DHL operational teams.
To deliver weekly & monthly, internal and customer financial reporting and presentations to provide insight into financial performance & decision making
To proactively support project development, administration and tracking over customer savings through to the end of the sign off process
To ensure that UK balance sheet control adopts best practice and all balance sheets are submitted to timetable.
To ensure financial best practice is adopted across all financial processes, including customer invoicing, working capital management, supplier payments, balance sheet reconciliations and all other financial processes.
To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Customers finance and operations teams
Pro-actively Identify key customer financial concerns & recommend solutions to issues
Be responsible for the financial reporting of all areas of the site finance at monthly customer reviews and weekly commercial calls
To ensure that all customer invoices are issued to timetable and that working capital is managed with set limits
Be responsible for delivering Sainsbury's budgets and forecasting to timetable.
Provide commercial and financial support to the Commercial Controller - on all aspects of DHL open & closed book finance
Provide commercial and financial support to the site DHL and customer operational teams
To comply with balance sheet best practice, including OBR sign off and ensure the highest standards are consistently achieved, reviewed and improved
Continually review financial controls & processes to ensure risk is minimised.
Ensure financial processes support the operation and meet customer requirements and expectations
Operate within defined corporate, legislative & financial standards
Establish submission calendars to ensure deadlines are met with regard to reporting timescales, ensure reporting is robust and accurate

Key skills and experience in this role will include:

Experience in logistics or retail finance function, ideally with a retail customer
Highly commercial financial management skills with an ability to work in an open & closed book environment
A proven Finance Manager with a minimum 2 years management experience
Able to business partner the site operational team.
Analytical by nature, able to present financial information in a clear, concise manner.
UK based with travel to various UK sites as necessary
Experience in a logistics based finance role desirable
