Our client is a specialist gas engineering company, delivering integrated instrumentation and engineered solutions to the gas utilities, industrial process and environmental industries. They have grown from being a small specialist subcontractor, into one of the largest solution providers in the UK industrial gas market.

The company have developed a portfolio of thoroughly engineered solutions and gained invaluable experience with a proven track record of safe and successful project delivery, from the design and supply of small bespoke systems through to major multi-site CDM managed contracts in excess of GBP20m.

They operate from a five acre Head Office in Staffordshire where a team of engineers and project managers will run a project in its entirety, from conception through detailed design and in house build, then on to site installation with commissioning and subsequent training of personnel. They also provide the reassurance of a full complement of after sales service and support options.

THE ROLE

Based within their Staffordshire Head Office, you will join software development aspects at an exciting period of development and growth.

As part of this team you will be responsible for the design and development of bespoke software, PLC code and HTML type applications for use with their wide range of products.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

* Interpretation of client specifications
* Production of FDS / SDS
* Undertaking preparation for FAT
* Assist in commissioning
* Programming of PLC code
* Undertake site commissioning

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Minimum of a HNC in a Software or Control / Instrumentation subject.
Good knowledge of IEC61131, HTML and WEB Server
Knowledge of process control principles.
Experience of the complete software/systems design lifecycle.
Knowledge of network / serial communications protocols and hardware.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

Knowledge of C&I Engineering
Knowledge of ORACLE and JavaScript, PHP
Knowledge of OPTO PLCs and GE / MTL PAC8000 PLCs
Knowledge of hardware
