Accounts Payable Assistant

Walsall

9 month fixed term

We have an opportunity within our Accounts Payable team for an experienced purchase ledger clerk to join HomeServe on a 9 month fixed term contract. This role is to process all purchase invoices accurately, on time and in line with agreed policies and processes, ensuring that Financial control is maintained in addition to;

* Processing all purchase invoices for Group companies accurately and efficiently to an agreed timescale and within agreed supplier terms.
* Investigating and resolving all queries (supplier and internal) promptly and accurately including:
* Cost and payment issues from received contractor invoices
* Claimcentre finance query queue
* Departmental customer queries
* Ensure that the IPROC helpdesk function operates efficiently.
* Performing supplier statement reconciliations within the required timescales
* Assisting in helping that purchase orders are used correctly by communicating with business users to make sure that they understand the I-Procurement process
* Ensuring that the 'no PO no pay' process is adhered to
* Managing values and volumes of invoices on hold and goods received not invoiced
* Identifying improvements to AP related systems and processes

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

Essential:

* Proven AP experience
* Experience of financial purchase ledger transactions in a high volume business
* Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel/Office
* Used to working within tight deadlines
* Keen to look for ways to change and improve processes
* Organised and methodical approach
* A flexible approach to work
* Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Desirable:

* Experienced in using Oracle AP ledger/I-Procurement
* Studying towards AAT qualification
